Two US pet food banks—in Virginia and Washington, made a public appeal for pet food donations which resulted in thousands of responses.

At the end of February, the Seatle Humane made via its Facebook page a public call for wet and dry dog food and dry cat food.

The pet food bank has a dedicated Amazon page where people can purchase food which will go to the struggling organization.

Alternatively, food can be shipped to or dropped at the food bank’s physical location at 13212 SE Eastgate Way; Bellevue, WA 98005.

Days later, the organization, which “keeps pets with their families by providing free food to pets of low-income families, including seniors and community members living with HIV or cancer,” received over a thousand boxes with pet food.

You can contact Seattle Humane to ask whether they need more donations.

An ideantical call for donations was made by the Roanoke Valley SPCA on May 7th.

The organization, which provides “more than 80,000 lbs. of pet food is provided annually to homebound seniors, hospice patients and 4 area food banks,” announced that it needs dry pet food.

Two days later, Roanoke Valley SPCA announced that the donations that poured in refilled the foodbank’s cupboards.

If you wish to donate, contact the organization to ask whether they can accommodate more food.
